Rip Off

Received a $100 Vanilla Mastercard for christmas. Used it once for $40 and put back in my wallet.

A few days later I went to use it again and fould that an online purchase was made in another state for the remaining balance. $60 gone. Since I didnt get the receipt with the card Vanilla wouldnt help. Asked me to have my friend go to store and try to get another copy of the receipt.

Yea right.

DO NOT USE VANILLA MASTERCARD. ITS NOT SECURE....

We purchased a few vanilla gift cards between October and December of 2018 at different time periods from Walmart in Carleton Place Ontario, Canada one of them was not properly activated by the cashier, we didn't keep the receipts didn't know this could happen, Vanilla told us the same thing to go to Walmart and get a copy of the receipt. I agree with you and said the same thing YEAH RIGHT!

How many people have been scammed by this company due to the cards not properly being activated, a quick check online tells us way too many these cards should have a different activation system in place like how about upon purchase immediately by the number SKU number, plain and simple then this way a dense cashier can't *** up its activating process.

We no longer buy any of these and would suggest to everyone not to take the chance either If you want to gift someone give them cash instead. Vanilla should be sued for the millions they steal from people annually.

Lost card/replacement

I called on January 8 2019 to report a stolen/lost card. I was given the case# 113****.

on January 10th I sent the requested receipt and copy of my utility bill.

I sent the information to Premium_fax@***.com. I have not heard one word back and when I called to follow up I have been given a run a round.

my card had been compromised at store i called immediately, after almost a week they send me a packet for dispitue it dont work so i called on 12/17.

was told there was no way to speed it up so they would send me package to fill out.This is terrible when i am disabled living on a ss check i buy 2 gift cards for christmas presents and will have neiter cards or money for grandsons christmas. I used to like and trust mc but not anymore Thank you Charles E Ehrhart

I had recently bought a prepaid mastercard, when I got home I tried to go check to see if it was activated (vanillaprepaid.com) and it was declined. Nothing strange there.

I waited a few more hours, and tried again. Declined. Hmm, I thought, I'll wait a few more hours. I then went to bed and in the morning tried it again.

Did not work. When I got home from school it didn't work. I think you see a pattern. It has been over 40 hours since I purchased my card, I've tried getting to customer service but you can either phone in or write a letter...

no emails...

I can not phone in because my phone recently broke and I need to get a new one, and god knows that I'm not going to write a letter in. This service is absolute ***

Horrible, incompatible with my online purchases. A complete and total waist of time

I am trying to accomplish a simple task one would think... Upgrade an account on an online game.

simple enough used one of these silly cards last month on it, struggled but finally did it. So now I get more of these cards as gifts and try the same exact things as before and nothing works... I get advice like try switching browsers, go inprivate and try, and on and on try searching for a solution on google and you get the run around asking if your trying to use it in a salon ? get real here...

in short I really hope something changes soon because if times money you owe a lot of FREE gift cards to many people that have had to suffer because of this silly garbage you sell... get your *** together ***

Vanilla MasterCard eventually responded to my inquiries and gave me the $69 payout that I had coming. I became pissed off because of Vanilla's unreasonably long avoidance of the matter and not advising me of what was going on.

After sending more than one angry complaining to them I was surprisingly (shockingly) contacted by phone and told that I would get the money. The person also apologized, so I am no longer pissed off.

(They better not try my patience again. Just sayin'.) I ended up enjoying your site, which really made things better.

I had a Vanilla MasterCard gift card and the balance was stolen. I contacted Vanilla and provided the details of the incident. Vanilla reimbursed the full amount that was stolen - $68.81. A Vanilla Visa Debit card was mailed to me, along with instructions on how to get the card activated.
From the day I received the card - 10-5-2018 - I have been unable to contact anyone at Vanilla Visa card to complete the settlement. There is no phone number that connects me with a person, and nothing to fill out and then have the matter completed.
At this point - 6 days after receiving the replacement card - I have had absolutely no contact with Vanilla. None. I have no idea why.
I expect a response by Thursday, 10-11-2018.

So much for my gift card!

I got a $50 gift card from on of my students and I can't use it! The website said there is an issue with my card and to call customer service but of course there is no one to talk to at customer service. This is the worst scam and so awkward to tell the parent who gave it to me!

Inactivation

Bought a 200 dollar Vanilla prepaid mastercard at Walmart they charged me 6 dollars and 50 cents to activate the card but when I tried to purchase something it always came back as declined. So I went back to Walmart for a refund or another card, they refused to take the card back and told me to call this 1800 number and speak with someone at mastercard.

Now Mastercard was pretty *** they told me to file a case where I had to photocopy the front and back of card and mail it in along with the receipt of where I purchased it from in order to get a refund which could take weeks if ever. Now what kind of *** is that? WalMart and Mastercard should be sued and held accountable for stealing my money.

So I either get my refund or another that works or I go back to Walmart and take 206 dollars of goods. The choice is yours Fuckers!!!!

Fraud department. I get why they do it, but I personally called and told them the purchases were mine.

Furthermore, provided documentation of my ID, card, and even SS card. A week later, after receiving all this, it’s still locked! I’m nowhere near my limit.

Cust svc reps all say they see everything is verified. What the ***

i was given a prepaid card as gift 2 years ago. it was purchased in Canada. i am residing in India. i could not use it any where in India. online shopping like wish.com also could not be used. the value of the prepaid card is $50.

now it is expiring in September. when i went to website, put in the details it says web services returned null

can you please let me know whether i can use the card still or it is a waste. there is no email ID on the website of Vanilla cards. also it requires me to call up Vancouver number on ISD which is more expensive than the gift value. if i do not use this card it will be a waste

can you please help me get what the card is worth. r is it that this has to be used only in US or in Canada. or is there any website which accepts the card. also when i entered the card details

Short Changed

Vanilla Mastercard - Short Changed

I received a $100 Vanilla prepaid Mastercard for Christmas. After using the card for only $67.60 in purchases, I find out online that the available balance is now only $1.74.

This is entry-level math. A calculator is not required to see the problem here.

I have included a screenshot of my available balance to back up my complaint. The question now is how many of the remaining hours of my life do I wish to spend on the phone trying to pry that last $30 loose from these thieving cowards.

Think twice (3 times if necessary) before handing over money for these thieving cards, knowing that they may only honour a fraction of the face value that you unwittingly shelled out for.

I would like to provide you guys a review: you have to be the worst customer service company I have ever encountered! My mother gifted me a prepaid card worth 100$ and somehow at wasn’t activated at the point of sale...

how would she know?!? Now I am trying to use it and your customer service team has asked me to ask my mother to go back to get the receipt. This doesn’t make any sense! I have used many gift cards and yours has to be the worst.

We just lost 100$ cause your process is broken and your customer service is completely incompetent! Consumer protection agencies need to shut you down!

Worst ever - Please don't buy

This is such a nasty experience. I have received a 200 dollar Vanilla gift card along with another 200 dollar gift card from an institution.

I had no issues using the other card however when I went to use the Vanilla Master card and the transaction didn't go through. I tried in two different places and the same results. I called the customer service of Vanilla and they need the pictures of the card, the receipt, pictures of the packaging blah blah.. I sent everything except the packaging pics as I through that in the recycle and now it has been 4 days later and I have no information.

I kept sending them emails and no replies.

I am so frustrated.

Please don't but this card. Buy something else...
